Amanda Bossard was just out of high school when she started her studies in marine biology at Alaska PacificUniversity in Anchorage. Bossard started her commercial seafood career in 1999 when she was hired on board the vessel F/V Sunset. This 65' schooner, which was transformed into the role of a salmon tender is owned by Murat Aritan. The fisherman has been in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard has been married Aritan. They have now come together and have claimed their respective industries. They are both in favor of conservative and profitable managing of the renewable resources for seafood. Otolith opened its direct market wholesale distributorship in Philadelphia when Bossard returned from living back in her home town with two daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre 1year old, to Philadelphia. Bossard in 2007, a mother of two children Bella, age 3, and Andre 1. She returned to Philadelphia after a trip from Canada, launched Otolith as a direct-market wholesale seafood distributor. Bossard, their son Andre and daughter Isabella are scheduled to return home to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands in the wild salmon harvest. They use hooks and line to collect their fish, before joining Aritan to sell to local processors for a period of two months. They then continue to expand their direct seafood product sale through Otolith Sustainable Seafood. Amanda Bossard was hired as anchor for News 12/MMJ and News 12 Anchor/MMJ and News 12 Brooklyn in November 2015.
