Donald Joseph Qualls, better known as DJ Qualls is an American actor producer and fashion model. The actor gained fame following his role as a character in Road Trip. Since then the actor has been on 20 features such including The New Guy Hustle & Flow or The Core. In addition, he has appeared in Breaking Bad Supernatural, Scrubs as well as Lost Law & Order as well as several others. A survivor of Hodgkin's lymphoma and diagnosed with at age 14 Qualls is a fighter. After two years of treatment the cancer was cured. The early treatment had severe effects on his health as well as stunted growth. Since he grew up in poverty, he wanted to be financially secure. He said, "I've been living so cheap for so many years and I'm desperate for financial security otherwise the world is going to feel chaotic and that's not good for me." He reflects on his childhood, and has the desire to act against bullies. The cruelty inflicted on him breaks his heart. DJ's ideal role is to play a father figure in reel, as well as in reality. The director admits that they aren't able to put his character in these roles. It's a dream to be one day the parent of his own child, at which point he will be able spend more time with his career and spend more time with his son.
